
Imagine when the region's first people, the Tlingit Indians, traversed the waters of southeast Alaska in hand-carved canoes. On this tour, you will re-enact the experience, being among the select few, under a limited U.S. Forest Service permit, to travel by canoe and venture within yards of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier.
Dress warmly and bring extra socks. Minimum weight - 40 lbs. This is a participatory trip so all guests should be able to paddle. For safety reasons, this tour is not recommended for pregnant women in their 3rd trimester. This tour operates under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.
Provided: Rain gear, over boots, and life vest which is mandatory to wear.
Snack: Reindeer sausage, salmon spread, crackers, water and a hot beverage.
Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children 13 years to 17 years must have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian.
