Salmon Fishing: Embark on a family-friendly Alaska wild salmon experience, free from small boats and seasickness. Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 8 years. Fishing license is required. Due to the recent King salmon closure, do not purchase the additional license for Kings until August 31st, 2024 unless superseded by subsequent emergency order. This date may change due to the State of Alaska regulations. Please check at the shore excursion desk upon arrival onboard the ship.
What to Bring: Warm layers of clothing, stocking cap, sunglasses, and cash or credit/debit card for purchases.
Good to Know: Catching a fish is not guaranteed. Some early morning or early evening departures may not visit the interior of the hatchery, but guests will still see the fish ladder and learn about the hatchery operations. A fishing license is required and can be purchased from your guide for US$15 cash, per person. When king salmon is targeted, a US$15, per person, additional retention tag is required. Children under 16 years are not required to purchase a license. During King Salmon closure, we will be catching and releasing Sea Run Dolly Varden Trout. Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States in most cases. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored on board your cruise ship.
