Wildlife Viewing Cruise: This tour offers abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing, including guaranteed sightings of the iconic American bald eagle. At just 60 ft. long, the tour vessels are the perfect size to navigate through the narrow channels around the small islands dotting the coastline, where these majestic birds of prey often like to perch. Possible sightings of other marine-based wildlife, include harbor seals, sea lions, jellyfish, seabirds, humpbacks and orca whales.

Totem Bight State Historic Park: Your captain will pause along the shore of Totem Bight State Historic Park to provide you with full, panoramic views of 14 towering, hand-carved cedar Tlingit & Haida totem poles and an Alaska Native clan house. While there, you’ll learn about the history of the park and the vibrant, living indigenous cultures present in the region of Southeast Alaska.

Guard Island Lighthouse: Cruise to Guard Island, where you’ll have the opportunity to view Guard Island Lighthouse backgrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the wild seascape and distant, snow-capped mountains. As one of Alaska’s first lighthouses, this unique site was built in 1904 and remains an active aid to navigation to this day.

What’s Included:

  • Complimentary tasting of Alaskan-style hors d’oeuvres, including a traditional alder-smoked salmon.
  • Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, including hot chocolate.

Notes

Requirements & Restrictions: Guests must be able to navigate a minimum of three steps with the assistance of handrails to safely join the tour. Mobility devices will be securely stored at the dockside facility as they cannot be brought on board the tour boats.

What to Bring: Waterproof layers, and cash or credit/debit card for purchases. A camera is recommended to get your favorite wildlife photo.

Good to know: The entirety of this excursion occurs on board the boat, with all attractions viewed from the water. Each tour vessel is equipped with two restrooms, and one restroom is also available at the mooring dock before embarkation. Aside from American bald eagles, wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed since they vary by season and weather conditions. On rare occasions, if the sea state is too rough in the exposed portion of the channel, guests may not make it all the way to the lighthouse. In these instances, the captain will spend more time in the protected waters along the tour route, viewing eagles and searching for other wildlife.
