Experience Alaska with the chance to spot some local wildlife, catch Dungeness crabs and enjoy a civilized crab feast in the comfort of the George Inlet Lodge, an old cannery bunkhouse built over the fjords on stilts. Your adventure begins with a scenic 30-minute transfer to the lodge, where you will board an enclosed and heated marine vessel. Take a 7-mile ride along the coast, past the George Inlet Cannery while your guides teach you about fish traps. Cross the fjords to a remote estuary - home of the Dungeness Crab Fishery and host to all types of wildlife. Watch your guides pull up the crab pots and learn about the crab's life cycle and habitat. Help reset the pots and then it's off to George Inlet Lodge where you'll enjoy a steaming hot Dungeness Crab feast, unlimited beverages (soda, wine and beer), and receive a Dungeness Crab Fisherman Certificate.
Entrance to the lodge has 79 steps. A van is available for anyone not wanting to take the stairs. This excursion may operate in reverse order. If traveling with an infant up to 3 years of age, please notify the Shore Excursion Desk on board so space may be reserved.
