Notes

Accessibility: This tour is not recommended for guests who have difficulty walking.

Requirements & Restrictions: Guests should prepare for a 1 km walk one way from the parking lot to the Bamboo Forest, which may be crowded depending on the season. At Katsuoji Temple, there is a climb of about 200 steps, along with an 800-meter round trip within the temple grounds. Shoes must be removed before stepping onto the Kawadoko platform. Comfortable walking shoes are required.

What to Bring: Local currency for additional purchases.

Good to Know: Guests will transfer via microbus from the restaurant parking lot to Kawadoko. The outdoor dining area may move indoors or be cancelled due to weather conditions, particularly if it rains. The riverside dining area is about 3 degrees cooler than central Kyoto, which can feel chilly in March and November—bringing a coat or jumper is recommended. In April and October, an additional layer is advisable, while August and September can still be hot.
