Visit the last remaining habitat of pelicans and the largest bird reservation in Europe. Skadar Lake is also among the few sweetwater swamps still flourishing the Mediterranean. It is the biggest lake in the Balkans and this tour will introduce you to Skadar and the great natural and historical attractions of Montenegro. Skadarsko Jezero, as it is known in the Montenegrin language, is set within the National Park of the same name and boasts 264 species of birds, 48 species of fish and 30 submarine springs. Interestingly, these springs are called oka (eyes) by the locals. Numerous islands, fish colonies and a complex of monasteries cap off the attractions of the region. You’ll take in the many sights as you cruise on the lake, taking in the islands, bays and picturesque surroundings. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. There’s time for sunbathing and swimming, weather permitting.
Bring your swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen and a hat.
