Turkey is home to hundreds of distinct grape varieties, and this is your chance to explore a charming winemaking facility in this region. Enjoy a panoramic drive through the countryside surrounding Kusadasi to the Seven Sages Vineyard or 'Yedibilgeler' in Turkish. Nestled in the countryside, this unique, stone chateau offers state-of-the-art winemaking facilities in the setting of lavender gardens, vineyards and a lush green valley. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about the winemaking industry in Turkey. The resident wine expert will escort you on a tour of the facility while explaining the process of picking, producing and fermentation. Visit the wine cellar where the French oak barrels are stored before having the chance to sample some of the locally produced wines accompanied by an assortment of the local Turkish cheeses. Your second, and the last stop of the day, will be at a Turkish weaving carpet and handicraft village where you will enjoy a carpet presentation of this age-old Turkish tradition. After the visit of the handicraft village, your coach will return to the Kusadasi downtown where you can browse or return to your ship.
