Upon arrival in Santiago, your guide will give you a full description of Obradoiro Square, where Santiago de Compostela Cathedral stands. Also in the square is the Town Hall, the Pazo de Roxoi, the College of Saint Jerome and the Hostal dos Reis Católicos. As you reach the cathedral, you’ll be able to see the architecture in the front west from the 18th-century Baroque period. You’ll also see the statue of the Apostle Santiago (St. James) as a pilgrim, along with his urn. Walk to La Quintana Square, where you will see the Puerta Santa o del Perdón, known as the Holy Door or Forgiveness Door. After your visit, you will head to the Hostal dos Reis Católicos to enjoy some tasty tapas, while listening to the songs of Tuna singers. Next, enjoy some free time to walk around and discover all the city has to offer. On your way back to port, your motor coach will drive along the promenade for panoramic views of the city, and you will have a photo stop at the Roman beacon, the Tower of Hercules.
