Historic Jungle Train: Travel into Costa Rica’s exciting past on a vintage train that takes you through the lush jungle, passing banana plantations. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife that frequent the tracks. This open-air historical train made its first trip in 1940 and allowed coffee producers to export their “golden bean” to European ports. It also is responsible for the start of the banana industry here.
Limón’s Countryside Views: Board your air-conditioned transportation for a drive around the city of Limón. Pass by lush tropical forests, plantations, and small towns while you are immersed in the history, culture and heritage of Limón. A brief photo stop will be made along the road and your guide will explain the importance of banana plantations in Limón’s economy.

Requirements & Restrictions: For safety reasons, guests with mobility difficulties may not participate on this excursion. Guests must be able to safely navigate high steps on and off the train and must remain seated when the train is moving.
What to Bring: Camera, bottle of water, and rain gear in case of rain.
Good to Know: While wildlife sightings are common, they cannot be guaranteed. Shopping for souvenirs will be available at the demonstrative banana plantation. Guests will be traveling in an open-air train and no body parts should be extended outside your window. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
