River Refresh: Paddle along the Dumbea River through one of New Caledonia’s prettiest valleys, surrounded by mineral-rich hills, eucalyptus forests, indigenous flora, red earth, and deep green waters, with kayaking instruction and time for a refreshing swim.
Requirements and Restrictions: Minimum age - 8 years. Close-toed shoes are mandatory. Participants must be able to swim. Suitable only for those in good physical condition. Climbing into the kayak via a big step is required.
What to Bring: Wear clothing suited to weather conditions and your swimwear under your clothing; bring eco-friendly mosquito repellent, a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Carry a small waterproof pack for your device.
Good to Know: The kayaks are self-bailing, though some water may pool at the bottom as you paddle. There are no changing facilities at the river. The kayaking portion of this tour is approximately 1.5 hours long.
