Covering the city districts of Södermalm, Gamla Stan, Norrmalm, Östermalm, Kungsholmen and Djurgården, each with its own special character, this tour offers an excellent introduction to Stockholm. Fjällgatan, with its magnificent view of the city is a must-see. You will also view the enchanting medieval Old Town, the Gamla Stan, with the Royal Palace overlooking Stockholm's inner harbor. Proceed past the Royal Dramatic Theatre and along Strandvägen to the island of Djurgården, regarded as Stockholm's amusement and recreation center with great parklands and beautiful gardens. Many cafés and restaurants are located here, as well as the Gröna Lund Tivoli, the Skansen Open-Air Museum and the well-known Vasa Museum, housing the 17th-century warship Vasa. Continue through the Diplomatic quarter and through Östermalm – a fashionable neighborhood of stately apartment buildings. On the island of Kungsholmen, view the impressive City Hall, renowned for its architecture, mosaics and for being the site of the annual Nobel Prize Banquet. Proceed south via the Western Bridge to Södermalm. Finally, you will have an opportunity to experience Stockholm on your own. Leave the coach in the city center, within a few minutes' walk of the Old Town in one direction or the modern shopping district in the other direction. You have free time to enjoy some lunch (at your own expense), shop, visit museums or just stroll the streets and take in the atmosphere. At the designated time, the coach will pick you up for the return drive to Nynäshamn.
