Accessibility: This tour is not recommended for guests who have difficulty walking.

Requirements & Restrictions: Guests should be prepared to walk approximately 1 km one way from the parking lot to the Bamboo Forest. Please keep in mind that the area can be quite crowded depending on the season. At Katsuoji Temple, there are around 200 steps to climb, and guests will also walk about 800 meters round trip within the temple grounds. Additionally, remember it is required to remove your shoes before entering the Kawadoko platform. Comfortable walking shoes are required.

What to Bring: Local currency.

Good to Know: Guests will be transported by microbus from the parking lot to Kawadoko. Please note that the outdoor dining area may be moved indoors or canceled due to rain or weather conditions. The riverside dining is about 3 degrees cooler than central Kyoto. A coat or sweater is recommended for March and November, while an additional layer is advisable in April and October. Keep in mind that it can still be hot in August and September.
