Costa Rica really does have it all:
Colorful towns, a vibrant history, friendly people and an amazing countryside all waiting for you to discover. This half-day tour is a fantastic way to experience this laid-back paradise with the minimum amount of walking but with maximum fun. You will start heading to Esparza which is one of the most picturesque towns in the Pacific region. Local dancers will greet you with colorful costumes. You can enjoy the masquerades, take a “salsa” group dance lesson from the dancers and visit the souvenir displays. Continue your journey down to the sea level and admire the sweeping views with green rolling hills covered by pasture lands. We will stop at a local souvenir shop to purchase mementos and sample their delicious fruits and refreshments before heading back to the ship.
On this excursion you will:
Take a scenic drive along the coastal highway. Admire the varied Costa Rican landscapes as you pass steep mountains, rolling hills and flat lands with an array of native trees and colorful wildflowers. You will stop at the small farming Esparza town, its main square and visit the church when it is open. See a group of energetic locals performing typical folkloric dances. Participate in a group dance “salsa” class with the locals. Browse the arts and crafts on display at the town square for a special souvenir of your visit to Esparza. Many of them are manufactured by the dancer’s parents. Visit the “El Jardin” souvenir store where you can sample tropical fruits and refreshments.
