Wilderness Sea Kayaking Adventure

This memorable kayak adventure starts on the dock in Sitka. Suit up in quality rain gear and a life jacket; then, climb aboard a fast, custom-built vessel for an exciting sightseeing tour en route to the floating base camp.

Your knowledgeable captain will scan the sea for wildlife and identify points of interest along the way. Upon arrival at the base camp, your guide will instruct you in the use of safe, ocean-going, two-person kayaks. These stable but maneuverable craft let you enjoy the beauty of the protected bays and inlets near Sitka from a serene, natural perspective.

An experienced guide, who is well versed in paddling techniques and the marine environment of the area, will lead your group of up to six kayaks. Each of the waterways traveled holds unique attractions—colorful intertidal invertebrates, bald eagles swooping from the treetops, or the grandeur of the lush rain forest. You may even see brown bear, harbor seal, or Sitka black-tail deer.

NOTE: Operates in all weather conditions. Use of rain gear and life jacket included. Wear warm clothing. Minimum weight is 40 lbs; maximum weight is 250 lbs. No prior experience necessary. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
