Highland Village is the only living history museum for Gaelic language & heritage in North America. Tour 11 period buildings, structures representative of a Gaelic community from late 1700s to 1800s. The house, mill, forge, store, and church set upon 43-acres will take you to another time. There are rare farm animals, including soay sheep & highland cattle. Costumed animators offer interactive learning experiences. The Highland Village has 3,000+ artifacts from hooked rugs, furniture & instruments used to explore and make maps. Visit the lookout for a breathtaking view of the Bras d'Or Lakes, which covers 683 sq. miles.
