Stroll Palace Square, grandly overseen by Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, an ornate 19th century Russian Orthodox Basilica. Nearby is also Estonia’s oldest church, Tallinn's beloved Dome Church, founded in 1219 by Danish conquerors. Continue to a scenic overlook for sweeping views over the spires of Tallinn’s Lower Old Town. Then, head downhill to the Town Hall Square with its Gothic Town Hall, completed in 1404 and topped with a weathervane “Old Thomas," the city's enduring symbol. In the Lower Old Town, visit Europe’s oldest pharmacy, ”Raeapteek“. Pause for a traditional lunch, then continue to the Rotermann Quarter, a former industrial area, which has now found a new function.
