Your tour will begin as you board your motor coach and travel north, ascending foothills cloaked with pine forests, and head to El Portillo, the entrance to Teide National Park. The road travels along the mountain crest and offers panoramic views of the north and south. Teide National Park sits over a mile above sea level. Declared a national park in 1954, the park is named after Mount Teide, which has the highest peak in Spain — rising some 12,300 feet from the giant crater floor. Teide National Park is also one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the most visited park in Europe.  Your tour will include several photo stops so that you can capture the stunning scenery around you. Then, travel to Humboldt Belvedere viewpoint and stop to capture sweeping views of the Orotava Valley, known for its lush vineyards and banana plantations. Over 200 years ago, the naturalist, Friedrich von Humboldt, described the view as the loveliest in his travels. Next, travel to the charming town of Puerto de la Cruz. This lush seaside town has been Tenerife’s premier tourist area since the turn of the 19th century. Here you will relax, take a break for lunch and enjoy a visit to the Orchid Garden, founded in 1774. Once this amazing day is complete, you will head back to your ship.
