Depart quayside to Vittoriosa, which served as the base of the Order of Saint John and de facto capital city of Malta from 1530 to 1571. Vittoriosa is also well-known for its vital role in the Great Siege of Malta of 1565. Proceed to Marsaxlokk, a traditional fishing village in the South Eastern Region of Malta. The village’s name comes from Marsa, which means "port" and Xlokk, which is the local name for south east. The word is related to the name for the dry sirocco wind that blows from the Sahara. Here you will have some free time to explore. Then drive through the tiny villages, until you reach Rabat and drive around the perimeter of Mdina. Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill. It was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants and beautiful views over the Island, it is truly a magical town. A comfort stop will be included. Continue driving through Mosta known for its famous dome, considered the third largest unsupported dome in Europe, before driving back to your ship.
