Great Family Experience: Enjoy your day visiting a bird sanctuary with a pink lagoon, flamingos, a boat ride, a quick stop at the cenote and relaxation time at the beach. At the Celestun Biosphere Reserve, you’ll encounter more than 300 species of birds that either migrate through or live along with the beautiful pink Flamingos.
Relaxing Boat Ride: The boat trip will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, visiting the Ria which is where you’ll find the best viewing areas to spot flamingos. Travel through the mangrove tunnels and take photos of the natural environment and wildlife that surrounds you. After exiting the mangrove tunnel, you will visit the natural spring water (cenote).
Discover Cenote Crystal Waters: Your guide will dock at the cenote and give everyone a chance to get out and explore.
It’s Lunch Time: After the boat ride, get ready to visit a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. Here, you will have time to swim in the ocean or relax on the beach.
What to Bring: Water shoes, beach towel and cash or credit/debit card for additional purchases.
Good to Know: Viewing and observation of the flamingos will depend on the weather conditions. Flamingos can be viewed year-round but are most abundant between December and April. Travel time to Celestun Biosphere is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
