Bruges On Your Own

This wonderful day sight-seeing in Bruges is yours to shape and enjoy. It is known as the 'Venice of the North,' thanks to a network of beautiful canals. You will be escorted by your guide to the Walplein, a pretty, cobbled square in the center of town. After a brief orientation, you will then have around five hours to enjoy the city independently. Your self-styled itinerary may include a visit to the Church of Our Lady, whose altarpiece is home to Michelangelo's white marble sculpture of the Madonna and Child, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, or the impressive City Hall on Burg Square. If you're feeling active, you may wish to climb the Belfry, hire a bicycle, or take a ride on a horse-drawn cart. Shop for local goods, including Flemish lace, tapestries and fine Belgian chocolate, before meeting your guide at an agreed time in Walplein Square.
