Explore Lac Bay National Park by Safari Truck: Embark on a narrated 4WD off-road tour, passing by the mangrove forest and lagoons in the Lac Bay National Park, one of the best-preserved mangrove forests in the Caribbean. Look out for wild donkeys, goats and you may even spot the famous pink flamingos.
RIB Boat Safari: The RIB (rigid inflatable boat) experience will take you around the shallow waters of the mangrove forest. Your guide will explain the different types of mangrove trees and point out flora and fauna that thrive in this environment. This sheltered mangrove is a nursery for coral fish and a nesting areas for all kind of birds.
Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 6 years. Maximum weight – 220 lbs. For safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with back or neck injuries, high blood pressure or heart conditions may not participate on this excursion.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can get wet.
Good to Know: Lac Bay National Park is a wetland site designated to be of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The 4WD vehicle features a sunroof and open sides (there is no air-conditioning). Depending on rainfall, the dirt roads can be dusty or muddy. While common, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
