Experience two of Iceland's star attractions on one unforgettable seagoing adventure! After you board the whale watching boat, your captain will cruise out onto the sparkling waters of the famed Eyjafjordur, Iceland's longest fjord, in search of whales. Be sure to have your binoculars and camera handy – the fjord is world-renowned as a favored feeding ground for humpback whales. Feel the brisk sea air as you cruise past quaint villages and towering mountains. Along the way, an informative guide will share knowledge of the habits and habitats of the wildlife you may see. Once whales have been sighted, your captain will gently maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photo opportunities as these graceful giants show off their massive tail flukes in the air. Many other marine animals call these chilly waters their home such as white-beaked dolphins, porpoises and the occasional minke, blue fin and sei whales.
Wildlife sightings are likely but cannot be guaranteed. Wear warm, waterproof clothing with appropriate footwear (closed-toe shoes/boots with a non-slip or rubber sole). Sunglasses and binoculars are recommended. This tour does not include a coach transfer and it involves walking from the pier to the pier where the whale watching boat is docked, approximately 15-20 minutes. After the tour, it is easy to walk into main town center to stroll around.
