Enjoy a tour of Sweden’s second largest city and enjoy the day exploring beautiful sites. Designed by Dutch architects, Gothenburg is reminiscent of Amsterdam, with its network of streets separated by canals. Its abundance of parks and open spaces has given Gothenburg a reputation as Sweden’s greenest city. Your scenic drive will begin with a trip behind the port to Masthuggs Church for a spectacular view. You’ll then move on to Götaplatsen, the cultural hub of the city, where you’ll find the Museum of Fine Arts, the Concert Hall, the Municipal Theatre and the Library. At the main square you will see a beautiful, towering sculpture of Poseidon, the Greek God of the sea, by sculptor Carl Milles. The statue stands 23-feet tall in a water fountain and was finished in 1931. After, travel along Gothenburg’s loveliest street, Avenyn, passing the City Hall, the Court House and the Stock Exchange. Your tour will then move on to, Feskekôrka, which is an indoor fish market with a beautiful rustic look from the outside that is located on the Rosenlunds Canal. Enjoy a short stop at this monumental location and take a look at the daily catch.
