Board your coach and drive to Amsterdam, which is one hour away from Ijmuiden. Take a guided walk through the city and experience an exclusive Dutch cheese and wine sampling. Although not the official seat of the government, Amsterdam is widely considered the capital of the Netherlands. Originating as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, the city became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age. It was also during this age that their delicious cheeses received worldwide fame. After a transfer to Amsterdam city center, you’ll embark on a guided walk, passing by the floating flower market, the quiet and serene Beguinage, and Dam Square, home to the classical style Royal Palace. Next, you’ll continue to The Old Amsterdam Cheese Store, for your exclusive cheese sampling experience. Over the course of one hour, five delicious cheeses and accompanying wines will tempt your taste buds. You’ll also discover the history and process of cheese making.
