Relax and capture beautiful landscapes as you take a scenic drive through the lowlands of North Amsterdam. The Beemster Polder, or the Beemster lowland, is an exceptional example of reclaimed land in the Netherlands and is registered on UNESCO’s world heritage list. A photo stop will be made en-route for you to admire a typical Dutch windmill, and you’ll also pass through Oosthuizen, Edam and Volendam. A stop will be made in the quaint town of Broek-in-Waterland to enjoy an optional leisurely guided walk, before continuing to a local cheese farm. Here, you can sample a variety of Dutch cheeses, with the opportunity to purchase the delicious produce on sale. Enjoy refreshments of tea, coffee and a slice of cake before the return journey to the ship.
To derive full enjoyment of this tour, some walking is required. The sequence of sights may be reversed.
