Nature Walk on Research Trails: Journey into the primary rainforest on behind the scenes trails used by rainforest biologists at the Veragua Rainforest, a mountain reserve renowned for its incredible biodiversity. Led by your naturalist guide, you’ll explore hidden butterfly traps (butterflies are not harmed) enabling study of the 585 species of butterflies and learn about the purpose of a research pond. Keep an eye out for colorful birds and monkeys along the way.

Butterfly Garden: Explore the Butterfly Garden – one of Costa Rica’s largest – enchanted by the hundreds of butterflies flying around you, including the world-famous blue morpho.

Organic Family Farm: Visit an authentic Costa Rican family farm and meet family members. Gain an appreciation of their effort to preserve water sources and restore the environment. Enjoy the orchard and see fruits and vegetables such as bananas and sugarcane, while learning about rural life and sustainable farming.

Requirements & Restrictions: Guests must be able to walk on uneven trails outside of the developed park. For safety reasons, pregnant women, and guests with back or neck injuries may not participate on this excursion due to bumpy gravel roads for short periods.
