Walking tour: Get your walking shoes on and take a historic stroll through Old San Juan and see its beautiful colonial architecture and impressive landmarks full of rich history. You’ll begin your journey on foot, escorted by your artistic guide, who will show you the colorful streets of Old San Juan with its charming, winding cobblestone streets.
Historical Landmarks: See El Parque de las Palomas (Pigeon Park), located along the city wall overlooking Paseo de la Princesa and next to the Capilla del Cristo — a historic chapel built in the 1700s. See the impressive La Fortaleza, official residence of the governor and the oldest executive mansion in continuous use in the Americas. Further north is San Juan Bautista, the second oldest church in the Western Hemisphere.
Calle del Cristo: An artist’s haven with over 20 galleries within the Old City walls and where the magic begins. Enjoy an art experience tailored for you to create your own artwork, which you can keep and cherish.
Painting: An original painting on canvas created by a local artist will be presented, along with the artist offering you some interesting insight of the artistic process to put you in the mood to create. The artist will then guide you step by step, giving you ample time to express yourself artistically as you sip a glass of sangria and listen to soothing music during your class while enjoying some fresh popcorn. Participants will be able to complete their creations to take back home as souvenirs.
Requirements & Restrictions: Guests must be able to walk on uneven cobblestone streets. Minimum age to drink – 21 years.
What to Bring: Sunhat, sunglasses, good walking shoes, and water.
Good to Know: Guests will have approximately two hours to complete their painting, but time may vary depending on the group’s skills and time spent on the walking portion of the tour. Tour runs rain or shine so dress accordingly.
