Past and present thrive side by side in Seattle and on the Grand City Tour you will see it all, from the modern Fifth Avenue to historic Pioneer Square and the International District.
Your first stop will be the world famous Space Needle, where an elevator will shoot you up to the Observation, or as we call it, “The O Deck”, for a bird’s eye view of the city we call home! This is your chance for an unforgettable view of the Emerald City and its surrounding mountains and bodies of water. After departing the Space Needle, enjoy the Pike Place Market, the oldest open-air farmers market on the West Coast. Enjoy time on your own to explore the multitude of culinary offerings and the wide variety of arts and crafts. Street performers will engage your senses throughout the Market! This is a great place for shopping and to grab lunch.
After shopping to your heart’s content at the Market, and avoiding any fish that may be flying through the air, we’ll tour you through the oldest and most colorful neighborhoods in Seattle including Freemont, locally known as the center of the universe. From Freemont and other iconic Seattle neighborhoods, we will stop at the Ballard Locks. A peaceful stroll through the Botanical Garden will bring you to the Army Corps of Engineers locks connecting Elliott Bay to the lakes residing throughout Greater Seattle and a chance to observe vessels making their way from lake to sea through the locks and if you’re lucky you may catch a glimpse of the salmon making their spawning runs.
Afterwards, we will tour through the downtown core of Seattle. Learn about the roots of Seattle and how Seattle has morphed into the modern and eclectic society that it is. Afterwards, we will bring you to the airport for your flight departure.
Note: This tour is suitable for guests with flights after 4:30 pm.
