Luggage Tags

Okay, raise your hand if you used to spend hours and hours when you were little, coloring and baking shrinkable plastic?! Many a summer hour was spent in my house making those little beauties. And now that I’m older and I’m having different kinds of adventures, I think it’s only appropriate to incorporate my old crafting skills into a new project! You can make these summery little luggage tags in any shape you like, color them in, fill out your info, and hit the road! I’ve been having a ball creating these travel-inspired DIYs with Carnival Cruise Line; now all I need is to hop on a cruise to somewhere tropical so I can use these rad little tags.

Step 1: Decide on the shape of your luggage tag and draw an outline on the rough side of your shrinkable paper. Think fun, summery shapes or travel-inspired shapes: ships, palm trees, and more! Start coloring in your outline, completely covering the paper with color.

Step 2: With a black colored pencil, write your luggage tag info on the shape. Keep in mind that shrinkable paper shrinks to less than half the size of your original image, so write large enough so that it will be legible after shrinking.

Step 3: Cut out your shape.

Step 4: Bake in the oven according to the directions on your shrink paper’s packaging. These were baked at 325 for about two minutes.

Step 5: Remove from the oven. Let cool and punch a hole in the top of each tag. String the tags with a strong cord and knot them around your luggage.

Bon voyage, you’re ready to go! I think a tag in the shape of a ship would be stinkin’ adorable if you were headed on a cruise. Or even a life preserver! The possibilities are seriously endless, and I could make these things all day. What shape would yours be? xoxo

P.S. A gold passport cover!
