The city of Molde, often referred to as the “Town of Roses,” lies on Tomsdalfjord and is conveniently sheltered from the northern winds. You’ll begin your tour with a motor coach ride through the city’s commercial district to the stunning viewpoint at Mount Varden. The original city of Molde was largely destroyed during the Second World War, however today the city has rebuilt since then and today is thriving. While here, you'll find residential areas with detached wooden houses surrounded by carefully tended gardens. Later during your tour, you’ll hike the wooded Varden Path for about an hour before you reach the open-air Romsdal Museum. This museum features typical farmhouses from Counties MØre and Romsdal. Here you’ll enjoy a traditional snack of a Norwegian pancake, along with coffee or tea. From there, you'll continue onto your next stop: Reknes Hill where you can marvel at the scenic views of Molde from another perspective. Afterward, you’ll return to the pier on foot.
